I am a 22-year-old English male from Winchester. I have developed a firm interest in how design can affect and change how people behave. Across the length of this degree, I learnt many important things about the art world. It is not just about how something appears aesthetically, everything that works well has been designed purposefully. The most interesting thing I can take from the past three years is that design can improve anything that is in need. I have developed a keen interest in how design can be a solution to a problem whether it be the prison system, mental health, the use of a door or telephones.
About your project:
UniZen: a Solution to Students Anxiety
This project aims to create a long term design-solution to the increasing rate of anxiety in university students. The solution is a light-weight bracelet and mobile app designed to support the emotional wellbeing of university students. It will provide the students with an insight into who, what and when it affects them negatively, as well as relaxation techniques to de-stress. The wristband will further act as a university ID allowing the students to interact with different services provided by the university. It aims to reduce the stigma attached to mental health issues and reduce the strain that mental health services are under.
